More monetary suggestions

I’m thinking of selling my PSP.
First of all, any objections? I really haven’t gotten a lot of use out of it, I haven’t found a lot of the games too entertaining (besides Lumines), and it really doesn’t seem to even compare with, say, the Nintendo DS in terms of gameplay and, well, overall feasibility. So yes, I’ve obviously admitted defeat in the handheld wars, but I just want my money back while the going’s still tough.
Second of all, I’m thinking I should sell all of my stuff for it individually. Or at least all the games I got for it and then the PSP and supplies.
This is what I have and what I’ve paid for ’em:
PSP v1.5, 32MB memory stick, headphones, Sampler Disc, Spiderman 2, AC adapter = $250
Case = $20
1GB memory stick = $100
Lumines = $40
Mercury = $40
Wipeout Pure = $40
GTA: LCS = $50
5 UMD cases = $10
USB charger/cord = $15
I’m thinking of selling the PSP with the stuff that came with it as well as the case and USB charger. Then maybe I’d sell the 1GB memory stick on its own, and then each game separately. Any other advice? Think it’s worth the effort? Since the PSP is still version 1.5, should I expect any extra? I’ll probably try to throw all of this stuff on eBay.

  1. HAVE YOU GOTTEN INTO HOMEBREW, THATS WHATS BEEN KEEPING ME HOOKED ON MY PSP DESPITE HAVING A BIGGER GAME LIBRARY ON DS!!!! I SORT OF PRESUME YOU HAVE SEEING AS YOU HAVE GTA:LCS AND YOUR FIRMWARE IS 1.5!!!!

  2. Yeah, I’d say go with what you said about selling the PSP with the bundled items and everything else seperately, unless you want to throw it all together and charge one insanely high price or something.
    Perhaps you can find a price higher than what the PSP is worth and set that price as a BuyItNow option, and include the case or USB charger as a bonus if someone chooses that option. That would kind of make it more appealing, I think.

  3. If you’re interested, I’d trade you my almost-unused white 2gb iPod Nano with box and all packins(msrp $180). And some additional $ since that really doesn’t cover the value of everything. I woukdn’t want the games, just the system, memory and accessories. I wouldn’t mind having a PSP to check out the homebrew, and the Nano is just going to gather dust since I’ve determined it to be inferior to what I already have…and you don’t have a dedicated flash player iirc, so it might be more useful in your hands.

    1. You know I might just be willing to make that trade! But I’d probably go for no less than $125 + the nano. That’d be the PSP plus accessories, case, USB cord, 1GB stick, and UMD cases.
      I’d only really do this because my girlfriend is interested in having a bigger flash player (has 256MB at present), and then sell it later whenever. I’m still a little iffy on the entire thing, but tell me what you think about my offer.

      1. $125 sounds like a reasonable price. But I’ll have to think about it too. If I sold the Nano I could use the value towards either a DS+games or a GP2x, both of which I’d prefer.
        I don’t really want to sell on eBay though since I don’t have an active account and I don’t use Paypal either, and I *definitely* don’t want to have to deal with a bad transaction. But I might look into doing it.

  4. we should be frieeeends… friend. : ).
    I added you to my friendslist
    as for the PSP, people get it for all the extra stuff you can do with it, not for the games. Like watch anime on it, listen to music, watch the PSP movies, etc. NOT for the games.
    I’d personally never get one because I’m a nintendo fanatic when it comes to the handhelds… I slowly am growing to like other systems, but I used to until like 2 years ago only play nintendo.
    Yeah that wasn’t helpful at all :p. I guess the PSP has its merits, but not where actual gaming is concerned 0_o.

    1. Re: we should be frieeeends… friend. : ).
      I’m having second thoughts on selling the thing, basically because I want to see what it can do with the PS3. I heard there’s interoperability.
      In the meantime though, I might sell the games.
