New MP3, sorta

scream (Long Version)
I just stretched out the original scream, adding a Mastering Suite and improving the synths a very slight bit. I sorta took out some randomness that was unnecessary in the original. Checkicheckicheckitowwwwww.

  1. Seems like a good improvement. I’d wonder if the highs are a bit overblown – with headphones on you can literally feel highs a lot more and it might be too much in this case(didn’t test).
Something I thought of, the last time I listened to your stuff, is that your original work is generally weaker than the stuff arranged by ear from others – not in the “you totally suck as a composer ha ha” sense, but in that the presentation feels less complete and developed when you’re working without source material. I’m saying that because it seems like the *opposite* happens to me. When I try to copy other people’s music, I can’t get the notes right, the sounds tend to be weaker than the original, and the treatment is just generally bad – plus it takes FOREVER. But if I just fiddle around with a sample looking for a chord I like I can usually make a good 20-30 seconds worth of stuff with little effort. (but bridging is still weak…)

    1. Thing is, I’ve never really sampled everything using Reason. I’ve just used modified patches and the like – I have yet to really take some drum samples or instrument progressions from other songs and make them my own. I really want to do that one day – maybe next thing I make, I’ll try that.

      1. Maybe – but not entirely. I did try comparing some MIDIs when I thought of this. But maybe I’m getting a distorted perception going back to them from the newer MP3 stuff.
