Does the spending on national security change the fact? I don’t know anything about what the US government has done to increase security, but as far as I know, poverty has always been a problem in USA.
Well, of course after the terrorists attacks in New York, homeland security has become very high priority… of course, we’ve spent a whole lot invading other countries as well. All of this money spent toward buffing our defenses and “securing our homeland” has taken a big chunk out of funding for education, health care, employment, and the like.
