Hah, that’s like almost every turn based RPG. On some battles in FFX, all I have to do is haste someone, quick attack all the monsters with 99999 damage, win.
No, Skies’s battles are rediculously slow. You have to watch each enemy/PC move from their old spot on the field to their new target. In the case of really slow enemies (like lizards, for example), it takes a good 30 seconds for them to walk to their enemy to attack.
I’d also like it if the regular battles wern’t so goddamn slow. That’s what mainly pissed me off about the game.

I know about Skies already (my Dreamcast’s laser stopped moving though), I just digressed with an anology of spamming battle winning attacks.
But FFX doesn’t have Lambda Burst.
But Skies doesn’t have Rapture.
Uh, I had to Google for that. We’re talking about FF8 all of a sudden?
(Seems to me like Rapture only eliminates ONE monster from battle…)
Yeah, insta-boss kill too.
You leveled too much, try escaping, you fighter.
