Yeah, he did. He also implied, though, that the South is arrogant for calling themselves “authentic” or “real” Americans. I believe it’s a pithy contradiction.

To be fair, he never really says there are two kinds of arrogance. He just lombasts the south for being arrogant and praises the north for being arrogant.
