Windows Vista Classic

I turned off the “wow.” Now my Windows Vista looks just like Windows 98 again. Ahhh, clarity. 🙂
Also, beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD is probably coming to the US and that’s awesome. I meant to post that yesterday when it wasn’t totally old news.

    1. Yeah, I always did. I hated the blue or silver borders, they were always totally butt-ugly to me. Windows Vista fares a lot better, but I can definitely do without it – the drop shadows sort of bug me and the title bars/borders are a lot thicker.
In this mode I can’t do “Flip 3D” but that’s okay because I never use it.

  1. Haha, immortalized in a screenshot. 😉
I definitely prefer the classic look of Windows; when I upgraded to XP the first thing I did was switch to the classic view and download TweakUI and spend some time at annoyances.org so I could simplify my OS to my liking. It’s nice to see that they still haven’t changed the core interface.
I don’t like those enormous icons, but I’m sure there’s some way to change that, too.

    1. Oh, definitely, you can still go to the basic “appearance” pane and resize elements like title bars and icons and buttons and the like. In fact, there’s a new one in there I didn’t notice before called “Border Padding” where you can slim down the enormous borders in Vista… I actually liked the fact it was there so much that I switched back to Aero. 😛
