If you know nothing about politics, don’t make fun of the president’s intelligence. (And if you know something about politics, you’re probably above insulting his intelligence.)
Of course I’m reading into the lines, but seriously, “Bush looks like a monkey” jokes are quite old. Just… gah, stop.

        1. Yes, that’s worse. Why aren’t people “joking” about that, then? I believe we’re disagreeing to agree. People are joking about Bush being dumb, and through that, they’re trying to get others not to vote for him. Wouldn’t it be so much more effective if jokes about Bush’s intelligence stopped and the actual agenda behind the administration was pushed, instead?

          1. I think it’s cause it’s simpler to call the president a moron than to call his cabinet evil geniuses. It makes one feel superior rather than oppressed.
And, on a broader scale, if you are a typical political drone, you vote purely out of self-interest and would prefer “I win and you lose” to thinking deeply about the issues and whether the country as a whole will benefit. So in turn, you become fanatical about supporting your party at all costs and won’t hesitate to take cheap shots and then yell that the other side took cheap shots too. It’s like a well-funded, legalized gang war or something.

          2. Agreed. This is why I, as a registered Democrat, can make fun of liberal organizations for using Bush as an image of stupidity (the same way conservatives use him as an image of truth and integrity).

  1. we need more darth maul/darth sidious metaphors between cheeny and bush.
knee-jerk liberalism pisses me off almost as much as knee-jerk convervatism.
    this whole…BUSH IS HELLA DUMB.
NO BLOOD FOR OIL BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

  2. Well,I do believe the presidents intelligence leaves something to be desired. I’ve never compared him to a monkey, but I also dont think his low intelligence has anything to do with politics. He does have a strong cabinet, even if I don’t agree with 85% of the decisions his administration makes. He gets what he wants, and if he wanted good things he would be a very good president, regardless of his intelligence.

  3. many republicans critisize the democrats for being low and taking cheap shots, but its not just the Democrats…..take govenor ARNOLD calling the dems “girly-men” for not approving his budget proposal, and the new false bush ad-campaign called veterans against john kerry who are a bunch of war vets who never served with kerry claiming he is dishonorable for protesting the vietnam war

    1. Politics is full of cheap-shots, of course. Of course it’s not just the Democrats. You should have seen this one video on Bush’s site. They made fun of Kerry for supporting measures to take care of global crime, such as those committed by the Yakuza, and then they showed some sort of anime mobster and a gong played. Of course.
I’m just talking about what people’s opinions are on a wide scale – the magnitude people aren’t voting for Bush just because they think he’s so stupid. Like I’m saying, most people know nothing of politics.
