I’ve been fucking around with Reason in the past days and pooped out two songs! I feel kinda accomplished, they sound nice.
Ice
This one’s melodic, pretty VG-music-esque… in fact, it’s based on this little loop, Icedream, that I made about a year ago in Cakewalk. The background piano has a bit of a solo part, and that’s got some Osamu Kubota influence. Here’s the Reason file (requires the Reason Factory Library).
Psychotic
I made this one from 10:00 to 1:00 last night. Pretty amazing how quickly this stuff can be put together. Psychotic is supposed to sound like TaQ’s stuff. In fact, I was going to show this to James and tell him that it’s TaQ’s new song from beatmania IIDX 11th style (fictional as of now) and then he’d go like “weow this is rlly grate” and I’d be like “haha you got served this is actually by me.” The name follows the convention of songs with “-ic” at the end, like Holic or stoic. I really got the hang of Reason through making this song, by hooking up a whole bunch of sound distortion and pattern devices and whatnot. I hope to get into the swing of composing a lot more this summer. It’s quite fun. Tell me what you think of these songs.
If I had a PC….. or a decent means of getting all of the audio libraries for Reason…… yeah…
As for now it’s just general MIDI.
I liked the songs though, thumb it up.
That was excellent stuff, especially the second, but really, quit making fun of the way I type so often. If I feel like discussing something, I put in effort, if I’m doing several things at once/don’t care what’s being said to me, I type “shorthand”.
Oh, no that’s not the way you type at all. In this case, I wasn’t making fun of any aspect of your methods of communication, besides the fact that you’re slightly gullible in that respect, but I’m sure anyone except the DIE-HARD TaQ fan or whatever would believe that it’s by him if they listened to them.
Here, I’ll make fun of the way you ACTUALLY type instead. With me as a bonus!

I like the second one, though it’s really idiomatic. The third note in the hook on the first one really bothers me.
You know when you create songs and then you listen to them 10 minutes later, then an hour later, then half a day later, etc.?
By the end of one day, these songs were SUCK TO THE EXTREME. I’ve got a lot of equalizing and, basically, a lot of subtraction to do to both of these. Starting with the ugly-ass pitch bends in the first one…
