i dunno which skydiving place you found, but Skydive Monterey Bay is rather closer, and several people have expressed happiness with the experience. You can also pay extra for a DVD of your experience, of which i have seen a few and with which i was pretty impressed.

they were pretty awesome when I went out there.
I didn’t jump, but my buddies did and they had an awesome time.
they were on a rush of life for three days after.
