Yay Priceline

So yesterday I bought a ticket from SFO to LAX on Priceline. I need one because I’m leaving for Israel from LAX, and flying down is the cheapest and easiest way to get to LAX… anyway.
I needed to buy the earliest flight in the morning, so I got one that arrives at 7:20AM. A few hours later, United pushed the flight time up by 2 hours, which would make it arrive at 8:49AM, therefore giving me only two hours to get my bags, run from Domestic to International, find my Birthright group, go through security again… blrh. Would not have been fun or feasible. Just my luck to buy a ticket mere hours before its time is moved…
So I called Priceline up and despite United’s “no refunds” policy, they were able to refund my ticket. I then used them to get another (even cheaper) flight that arrives at 7:50AM. Hooray Priceline!
On an unrelated note, I recently realized that I’d do really well as an advertising guy. I talk about cool companies and stuff all the time. I mean I did once sort of work for a guerilla marketing company. But this isn’t guerilla marketing, I guess you could just term it as normal word-of-mouth. ANYWAY.

    1. Yeah I leave on July 8. It leaves at 11:20 and they said we should be there 5 hours before the flight leaves… one of the people said she knew that’s not possible with me, so she said I can shoot for 3.5 hours. I arrive exactly 3.5 hours before the Israel flight leaves, so all’s good… sorta.

  1. Drving to LA is way more fun than flying (and factoring in the security checks and everything, it takes about as much time), tho I guess flying is easier… maily cuz you would have to leave your car in LA while you would be in Israel.

    1. That, and I would have to leave at midnight and drive all night, and driving for 8 hours is something I would rather not do before spending another 18 hours on a plane. Also, given the amount of money I would spend on gas and parking, that fact alone would push me toward flying.
Also, “more fun” is debatable. I wouldn’t wish driving through LA upon anyone.
