Build Up
This was a quick song I made today… I wanted to do something calm, and in 3/4. But it seems that all of my songs end up starting calm and having shit stacked on top of them, so I went with that.
So eight measures play the current instrumentation, then four more measures act as sort of a transition, where everything echoes. It’s a weird thing to do, seeing as the beat is in multiples of three, but the measures are in multiples of two, but the addition of instruments is done in multiples of three, and parts of the song are in multiples of two again. Disregard that if it sounds overly complicated.
I think it sounds nice but I probably could have gone further with the build-up, like adding even more intense instruments on top. But whatever! Listen and tell me what you think.
did load right for me, all chopping, maybe just my internet but there’s a heads up just in case.

Try downloading it and playing it in something else – it works for me.
ACK, I was waiting for “something” to start, like, almost the whole song! But then I realized that’s what the title says, heh. ^_^;; The main theme sounds like resting in an rpg (hee) and I like how the beat kicks in after 2/3 of the song. This is something for the morning (which it is, here) while you’re still sleepy. (Now that I had my sweet awakening, I’m changing to something more up-tempo, though.) I like it!
error in quicktime player on the page?
Could it be the % in the page name?

interresting. i have the opposite problem. i try to make songs fast and hard, but they end up being… highly ambient, and slow.
I found the song very interesting. Kinda creepy, the echoey parts really put me on edge.
Awesome! Those sorts of things make me sort of uneasy, too.
I’ve decided to elaborate on this piece so expect an extended one in a day or two.
i like it but it’s missing something
m10, bt.2–needs more salsa
Measure 10 is the second measure of the first “build-up.” I think you have to be less cryptic because if you’re trying to appeal to someone’s “seasoned musician” side, you could at least attempt to be correct.
that was actually a joke/example four-part writing error on my music 14 final
