All righty, I got a Vista Business DVD from Baskin Engineering and now I’m rockin’ Vista on both computers. And everything works wonderfully! That is, my computer has not burst into flames yet.

i wonder if I should try that.
If you gots an MSDN AA account, then go for it. I’ve been beta-testing Vista for the past few months and I am very pleased.
…. how do I get one of those?
Where can I get Vista for a discount? I know I want it, and I’m over file sharing (it’s not worth it).
You have to be part of the engineering department of a school which is part of the MSDN AA. I’m not sure where you could get it for a discount, though. :\
you got an actual DVD of it?
I thought it didn’t come out until the 30th. Where’d you pick it up? I want one. :-p
Are you an MSDN AA subscriber? You have to be in a CS/CE class to join, and to get the DVD. (I joined a few years ago when I was in CMPS12A.)
If so, email the maintainer and ask to borrow the DVD.
BTW: Vista Business has been available to businesses since the end of November, and to MSDN AA subscribers since the beginning of January.
Also: it’s difficult to rip an ISO of it. I tried hard and did not succeed.
