I woke up this morning after partying at Ruji’s house, which was all good fun. I ended up falling asleep with my hat on and awoke to find that I was the only one in the entire house, except the cat. A little spooky! But good times nevertheless.
Then I headed up to San Francisco on 280, which was really great! It was the first time I had gone over 40 MPH since I arrived in Santa Cruz almost two months ago. I arrived at the Civic Center, found a cheap parking spot, and met my mom and sister at the Orpheum Theater for Chicago starring Huey Lewis, who played Billy Flynn. He might not be the best actor in the world but he sure can smile! It was pretty rad to see him! Oh also the entire musical was great too.
Then we went out to Max’s Opera Cafe, where my mom sort of surprised my sister and me by doing the birthday thing where the staff sings to us in harmony whilst bringing our desserts. Our birthdays are in about two months but the seats at the Orpheum and the dinner were her present so that’s pretty rad! Also I’m sort of celebrating my 21st in New York with Hannah and Brendan and Beau so I think that was one part of my local birthday party.
I drove back down on the 1 which was very relaxing because it’s a full moon and it was illuminating the beach the whole way down. Now I am contemplating going to play some DDRs. Hooray!
I was at the Orpheum last night too! Except it was in Boston and I was watching The Decemberists.
Crazy.
driving under the full moon is pretty neat but i get so distracted trying to get a peek at it. do you balance your scenery intake and driving obligations well? i have yet to master it.
It might be the opposite for me. I focus too much on driving fast and not enjoying the scenery… although part of the scenery is the fact that it’s moving by so fast.
