Thanks! Funny you ask because I’ve been using a freaking tablet to work on CAR #200 for the past week and oh god it’s killing me.
I actually don’t use a tablet when I do vector tracing – I use Flash, and I simply draw a line from one corner to the other, and bend the line. It’s very, very simple. Some people just tend to be able to do it better than others, though, I guess. I’ve been doing it for a really long time with CAR.
I’ve been messing around with adobe illustrator, and tracing things is unbelievably easy, making vector drawings a snap… I know the technique you use, and it is quite simple with the mouse. but I have yet to try it with pictures. the color schemes used look really nice, I’m very impressed, and I hope I’ll be able to do something fairly similar for a Jazz cd cover for my dad and brother’s jazz band.
what vector drawing program do you use?
is it just mouse and pen tool? or do you use a tablet?

Those look pretty good, but that thread is 12 kinds of fucking scary-ass creepy.
Some people tried using the colors from the actual photo. Oh god, the pinkish-purple-red and blue faces 😐
Also, serves you right for being airbrushed ‘n shit in the first place!!!
