It might just be a matter of a different sense of humor, but I don’t find that particular strip funny at all, while most of the Car strips entertain me. Really, Car is a pretty good comic.
The concept, story, characters, and art style were good. Our organizational skills and my lack of general writing/arting ability at the time were what caused it to suck.
LD was almost ok. I never read the whole thing through, but I got the sense that it was supposed to have some character development and never really got around to it – which left the setting as the strongest attraction. Unfortunately, arcades in real life aren’t very rich settings; so I guess what LD needed was a slightly bigger push into fantasyland.
CAR is simpler to do well, really. It’s just a framework for rambling on about whatever topic you feel like.
That’s where LD was headed.
I started it off with a bunch of DDR jokes to attract people – that’s what almost all webcomickers do; start with random jokes and then after a while start the actual story – and then it was getting into the story about 40-ish comics into it. That’s when people disappeared and I was left making it myself and I didn’t really feel like it.
Both old and new Car are way better than LD was.
I thought some of my LD stuff was all right.

Or maybe it wasn’t too great but at least I spent about 10 times as much time on it.

Let’s Dance was a really good album.
Yeah, what happened to that, anyway?
It died after a horrible 2-month-long deathbed bout http://www.jeffreyatw.com/ld
