First things first. After many a night of messing around with a Adobe Premiere, I made a crazy music video out of some ancient Crew footage from a tape that Jam was nice enough to convert for me (before the tape and the rest of Adam's backpack was RUN OVER BY A SAFEWAY TRUCK). Personally, I think it's pretty damn funny, and even though some of the footage has "you had to be there" jokes, it's good, sophomoric, meticulously well timed stuff.
"Let's Get Owned" - MPG version (16 MB) WMV version (~7 MB) I guess it's time to write about some more of my Sprink Break trip, as I know you're all hungry for bloggage, even if it was about something like me eating those sticks you stir paint with. :P Leaving Willamette, Mom began the drive to Tacoma in our replaced, working-tires rental car. This one did have a CD player, so I put on Bela Fleck and the Flecktones--modern banjo jazz, surprisingly good--for most of the way, fitting the Oregon scenery quite nicely. Not that I'd really want to live in such a rural area, but it was nice to look at (when I wasn't frantically trying to get blogs down on notebook paper XP). We stopped off in Portland for a break and a quick dance for me at the nickel arcade (25 cent Extreme...take that, fiddy cent 5th!). The players there were all barapers who weren't even that good at PA, I didn't have much time there, and there were lines, so I found this awesome game called Technomotion. It's a Korean DDR spin-off using 9 panels, with 3 different modes to choose from: 4 panel (a la DDR), 5 panel (a la PIU), or 8 (a la WTF). Not only that, but a lot of the music was made up of 90-120 BPM K-Pop hits--combined with the 5 panel PIU setup, it was perfect for freestyling (especially since I study music videos of some of those songs off Kazaa, heheh). Whoo. Doesn't look like I'll get to play it again for a while. =\ After that, we drove over to Tacoma and, as I set foot on Puget Sound for the second time, I noticed that already there were a lot more people walking around there than at Willamette (it's about double the size: 2600 undergrads). Made me feel smaller (yeah, just visit another UC, Gowdey). Its campus is the traditional red and green brick style, bigger than Willamette, but not quite as nice. I think Willamette had to be the best looking campus I visited in all, though, so that's a hard title to compete for. I met my host for the night, Chad, and found a couple unexpected things right from the start: We walked over to our host's dorm, which was a big step down from Willamette. Whereas that one was a room for three people only occupied by two, this was a single dorm for the three of us (I'd have to sardine with the DJ). Roommates, a room the size of a bathroom...welcome to college, Gowdey! Chad answered some burning Something never really came up. Lots of people were in their dorms, Chad said hi to a bunch of people, but we kept moving and only stopped to talk to a few, and we had little to do otherwise. We went to the downstairs "lounge" area and played some dull games of pool, punctuated by some YGGs/Strong Mads who yelled at the "skanks" on American Idol. "You KNOW the only reason Carmen's still on is cuz she got fuckin' HUGE titties!" College "nightlife" is pretty much what I expected--there never has been much to do on a school night anyway. Weekends must be where it's at. Or maybe I'm completely off the mark and Chad just didn't have any friends to hang out with. :P We came back at Chad's dorm to talk to some giggly girls, then watched TV in his room. I blogged about the day at Willamette there, and got to catch up with Momes for a bit. X) And I'm gonna cut off here. There's more to blog later, of course...I wanted to give you all the video tonight, though, and I have homework. Enjoy. |
