Well, the tragic week's ended, so I guess we can all go back to dancing jigs, playing games, and reading online comics like Jeff's. No, that's an ignorant thing to say. But life goes on, nonetheless--I shouldn't bore all of you by referring back to the event. Go to some other site for updates on the situation.

Instead, I'll bore you all by announcing that I'm making the Terra Linda Boys Cross Country team's new website! Jeff ran an old one a while ago when he was on the team (team nickname for him, BtW: "Doris" :D), but it stopped running when he did. So now, instead of taking on the task of asking permission to take over his site and update it, I've decided to make a brand new one (with the exact same layout, mind you, because I suck). So I guess that gives me something to do, other than try to configure this GODDAMN "Midgar Radio" Shoutcast server which will never run, and finish a MvC combo video.

O Thank Heaven for the free Earthlink digital camera (which should NOT be compared to Jeff's in defense of my ego). If I didn't have it, I probably wouldn't have the site. In fact, the main reason I'm running this site is toshowoffmyrunningtimes to get a good grade in this Web Design class I'm taking at school (my one "easy A" class, excluding orchestra). Also, thank heaven for Pop-Up Killer, which you must all download.

Oh, and you'll finally see what Stephanie looks like.

No, wait, you won't. Because it's a BOYS Cross Country site! Hah!

Unless you go to the girls CC site. D'arr.

Sigh. Times are tough. I felt I had to blog something here, even if I'm supposed to be reading The Scarlet Letter. Websites, TV channels, radio stations, everything/everyone's been affected in some form or another.

Like most of you, I spent most of today watching the coverage on CNN and the radio. Everything at school was pretty much was pushed aside to respect those who were lost in the Twin Towers, save for Pre-Calc and English. Nobody said anything during the CNN broadcasts (save for "Oh my God," etc)--it was eerie to walk into a classroom of people who only glanced at you, and waited for you to take your seat. An event like this does bring people together, even if it's only for a day--it was one of those strange feelings to walk by people in the halls who were in the same frame of mind that I was. And then I shook off the thoughts (temporarily, anyway) in the five miles after school. Good old running--it's therapeutic, I tell you.

Bush's speech, B-movie acting aside, wasn't as bad as I expected. However, one thing that bothered me was how he kept referring to this as a "war against terrorism." The number of nations supporting America right now would collectively destroy whoever declared war on us, so I see no sane reason to declare war against us. As for retalliation, it seems like America pretty much has the green light to do whatever we want to the "masterminds" behind this. Sure, I want revenge as much as anyone, but what about the consequences of our retaliation? If this turns into a war, I won't know what to think. Maybe I'll go to Canada.

Beware: Excessive linkage ahead. (Speaking of links, I linked to The Star Wars Pants Page!)

Cool thing yesterday: A freshman on the cross country team told me I have the best shirts! Spending lots of money on online t-shirts has PAID OFF, BABY. Now to decide whether I should get this one or not...

In other news: It's final. Everything2.com is, hands-down, what the internet was invented for. Next to MP3s.

They have, literally, anything and everything there is to know, from what I've searched for so far. Information on SoBe, How to Fight and Not Get Your Ass Kicked, Bad Posture, Things Guys Think Girls Should Know, Things That Rhyme With Orange, 61 Things to Do With an AOL CD, COW OF DOOM. Wow, no wonder Steve's turned into such a smartass. And I mean that in a good way.

And the amazing thing is that the people contributing CAN ALL SPELL. I've never seen an online community of people this big who are this literate. Forget Shoryuken.com as an intelligent site (it's gone down the gutters now that newbies have changed the Can Spell ratio to about 1:500)

Everything2.com even gets Lobstaboy's guarantee of:
"This is amazing. Seriously. Are you gonna watch Adult Swim tonight?"

(BtW, I apoligize for that schoolwork blogged up here. That was done when I had about 5 seconds of time to print something out from a PC disc to a Mac)
