Yeah. Bob DOES need to change that color. HA.

Lessee... my mom said that I may be able to skip C.I.T. and theater training, so that'd be sweet. I'd probably dress up as Zell. I've got his hair.

I've been offered moneys to make a simple Flash animation. Yay. Furthermore, I got $25 for babysitting today, and $120 is on my invoice so far for Casa Fairview. Well, I've got to quit typing so loudly since I may wake someone up (I'm at my mom's), so I'll leave by saying that I'm going to JapanTown tomorrow!

Jeff should quit whining--I'm on the complete opposite end of the country! I could never visit that! Fortunately, though, the next Otakon just happens to be in Baltimore, Maryland. That's about an hour drive from where I live... ehehe.

And speaking of booked schedules, I'll be gone for about two weeks. Fun with vacations in Kentucky. So, I'm afraid it's up to Serpent231 to make sure that all of JeffreyAtW's rants are argued with awesome debates that reach the heavans and make Jeff feel dumb AND stupid!

Geez, I really need to change this color.

I'm pissoffified.

I extremely do want to go to that, but what the hell?! Doing it on a weekday? What's with that?!? My schedule's booked. That's the second week of counselor training, and third week of Vector theater ensemble. How COULD THEY? They should remember me and change the schedule!

Grr-bah. Well, at least the GIA will be there (probably). I won't have missed THAT much OH WTF YES I WILL ARRRRKHGGGG!!!!!!!!

Well, James wants me to post MY version of the horrible day I had yesterday, so I'll do so before reading his post.

Well, I was really BORED the whole day and my mom told me to vacuum up the leaves. My sister and I had an interesting discussion. Here's an excerpt:

Lily: Barf?
Me: Poop.

Well, when I was outside sucking up the leaves, James pooped over for his bicycle which he'd left at my house for two freakin' weeks. I dragged him by the ear to the mall (around a mile away) and took him into the Suncoast Picture Company Store, where I drooled at the lifelike FF9 figurines. Then it was off to Electronics Boutique, where I smuggled a few GBAs into my pants.

We went to the arcade, where James INSISTED he play MvC2 for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT, boasting about how good he is at it, while I humbly registered a PIN number for myself on the San Francisco Rush 2049 machine. James was so mean when I decided to go up against him in MvC2. I was so close to beating him when he pulled a DHC and then a TTHC in the air while I was gaining bars to throw a TTHC of my own and blahblahblahblahblahblahblallhb.

I bought two FF9 figurines, one of Zidane with his holster, Mage Masher, Orichalcon and the Angel Wing, and Vivi with the Mage Staff.

We walked home with James complaining about how he talks too much, and then we went home and he refused to play any musical instruments with me. The bastard.

The end!

Today, I worked more on Casa Fairview.

Hey, I had a fun day today. I'd like to hear Jeff's version of it, too (COUGH).

I get dropped off at the mall, dominate at the arcade for a while at MvC2 until Nema (Omid's cousin...ITHINKITHINKHEISIMNOTSURE) comes in. Up until then, I'd never beaten him before, so I couldn't believe it when I got the first three games on him. Then he destroys my hopes by actually playing well, and beats me with his best team. I leave to pick up my bike from Jeffe's mom's house, find out that he's over there today, and end up walking back to the mall with him, while we discuss the "powerful" topic on Freedom. It felt kinda good to walk around and not care what people around me thought about two teens philosophising about something other than pots 'n parties (okay, that was stupid). And to think, it all started when he brought up N'Sync's crappy new video. What, is "Pop" supposed to be a pansy reply to all the "haters" who don't want to conform?

After wandering around aimlessly (and Jeff deciding that he wants a Game Boy Advance--I'm sure the Swamp would expand from that), we went into the now Nema-less arcade again so I could go through Mexican guys at MvC2 and beat the game, and he could stand by me and be amazed. Hheeh. Now he knows why I keep mentioning that damn game so often! John arrived, and Nema came back as well, and then the biggest, baddest Mexican of all, Horatio, came, and beat all of us...and it was time to get out of there after two or so hours. I'm sure Jeff was bored out of his mind (but impressed ehah).

I was just thinking: Jeff and I have the PS2...why don't we review some games? Here goes:

Few Sentence Synopses of Omid's Games:

RED FACTION: First person shooter with NICE graphics, an innovative storyline (for a FPS), and the ability to throw dead bodies off cliffs after you shoot them. But it's still a FPS, which I've never been into (on a console, anyway).

SSX: Graphically amazing version of Coolboarders (no, no relation), with bigger, better tracks, insane, ridiculously easy tricks, more air, and the stereotypical snowboarder personalities that we've come to know over the years (Generic Guy, big fat guy, black guy, "tough" girl, "cute" girl, etc). I had the hang of it down after one sitting, which is something that doesn't usually happen with snowboarding games. Much better than I expected.

Hmm...not quite like old times. Maybe when I actually buy a PS2 game, I'll review it.

By the way, Somethingawful.com's Project Go Away is awesome.

BobCFed08 is dead. I ate him.

And I think Jeff should get a personal homepage. You know, a place to post about his daily life and make a comics section, that kind of thing. If it doesn't happen quick, he'll do it on the Midgar Swamp. Oops. Spoke to soon. Ahhahaha. Hahahaha.

I thought I was still dreaming at 7:30 this morning when my sister woke me up muttering, "you got straight A's an' a B- in French." It has happened before. I've woken up to hear "please, Jeffrey, don't stop! !!!" (Japanese for "uaaaaaaanh" (download the text support f00)) one too many times, finding that I was still half asleep. But I was awake, and my sister was preaching the truth.

MUTHA GOD!!! I GOT ALL A's ALMOST!!! I thought that what I've acheieved was impossible after my mediocre performance on all the finals! What the hell! W00!!! YAY!!!

We went to see Moulin Rouge today, my sister, stepmom and I, and on the way there, we were stopped by a scene on the road - a dog, bichon-frise, had been run over by a truck, and we were there to see the owner, with no expression on his face, walk out into the road and pick his dog up. Its eyes were open, but it looked dead. Sort of reminiscent of the recent local conflict about the man who threw a woman's bichon-frise into traffic. What a way to start an evening, eh?

Anyway, when we got to the theaters, my sister decided to go see the Mummy Returns instead. I liked Moulin Rouge, but it made me sort of uncomfortable near the end. It's really loud, and there's this big crying scene - ugh, that scene was a bit too long.

My sister can't take constructive criticism. Take the benefit of the doubt here and assume I'm right - she will not listen to sense. I tell her that the only reason she's insulted by me is because I'm insulted by her, and so on - it's a downward spiral. We're never in compatible moods - she's always sad when I'm happy, and vice versa.

In other news, I am astounded by the fact that I already beat Zone of the Enders. It came as a total surprise - what seemed like the beginning of the game was the end of the first of the SERIES. I've been had! I could have rented this and still had time to enjoy the Versus mode! Ah well, at least now I can say I have a PS2 collection (2 GAMES!!!)

Well, now that I have one less thing to do, I can get to working on Suteki Da Ne - like I'll finish that this year, puh.

MY WOW, THERE'S A MASSIV BUBBLE SPROUTING OUT OF THE PIZZA I'M COOKING. I'M A GENIUS!!!

Hezeus...I've been really busy lately. I don't care what they say, for me, having a job does not equal "having a life."

I've got a bunch of stuff (hahahahahaha) planned for the summer, and I've started most of it. For one, I've been going to this internship job for a few weeks (as you've probably forgotten :), and lately we've been doing NOTHING. Usually, we work on the Marin County Fair website (buttons 'n Flash 'n stuff), and learning a program called iMovie--yes, we use Macs--then filming clips for it. Later, we can look all professional at the Marin County Fair, where we'll get to dress up in hip MCF T-shirts and show people how to use a the program, all while blatantly plugging Logitech (the company) merchandise. But as of late, since our Fearless Leader isn't here, we aren't even required to go to the lab, and the ones who do sit around, drink soda, go online, and fool around with emulators. That reminds me, I think they had a Street Fighter Alpha 2 ROM...

At least I got something done...I I played around with iMovie and Flash 5 while another guy played the DX sequel to Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and another watched "Wild Wild West" on DVD. About Flash, though, I had no idea how to use it at all. I'd really like to get help from another one of the members on Flash--maybe I'll get SOMETHING out of this internship, as opposed to just another bullet point on the resume (the main reason I'm there).

Or Jeff could help me. If he's not too busy with HOLY CRAP HE GOT ZOEY...

Also, I started going to this college course on "internships." Basically, we go there three times to study the field that we're working in (Multimedia for me...what a surprise), log our weekly hours we've done for our internship, and interview someone we know in that field. Jeff's dad, perhaps?

Well, anyway, I finally got the PS2, but no new games for it yet. It is pretty fun to go back and play the old PSX games again, though...another reason I opted for the system instead of the Dreamcast. For some bizarre reason, my Marvel vs. Capcom game has improved unbelievably, even though I haven't played it in months. I taped one of the Greatest Matches Evar, and if I ever get the right software, I could upload a Wolverine (me) vs. Venom match that showcases some mad rushdown skilZ. SRK would be proud of this one.

I got Trillian, but I lost all my old buddy lists. Great. Add that to the fact that I can't use ICQ on this computer anymore due to a stupid crash that happens every time until we re-format the system, and there goes my form of communication. Until all the people who feel like it IM me so I can add them to my list.

Omid's coming over soon. Time to try out Red Faction and SSX...one-sentence synopses (that's right, isn't it?) coming soon.

Currently Thumpin' to the Mad B33tz of: Zone of the Enders - Kiss Me Sunlight
WOW. The music of Z.O.E. is amazing. This opening theme makes me like the game more every time I hear it. And the battle themes are amazing too, in that they change depending on what you're doing. Ehaahah. I'm busy now so I can't blog about much more, but I just thought I'd mention that.

Thank goodness for the internet again. I wanted to get my hands on the Shrek soundtrack (I'd kill to hear that dragon chase sequence again), but I checked it online, and it only comes with one orchestrated track. Damn the record company!

I'll probably put up a few TFHs today!

Nice day today. First, the new extended family of my mom, my sister, the Polish roomate "Aggie" (that's not how you spell it, dunno, but it's how you pronounce it), and I went to the Civic Center library (where they filmed Gattaca!!!) and borrowed some books. I got me'self Maus II and some funny book by Tom Robbins. Of course, I'll probably only finish Maus II because it's one o' dem kid's picture books.

I could get used to this concept of "outside." It's almost as fun as the internet! We were off to the mall where I forsook the name of Pants Day (April 26) and bought myself 5 pairs of shorts. But... "they're comfortable and easy to wear!" We went to eat in the food court, where I met up with three of my friends, Omid, Jeff and Arthur. I decided to hang out with them for a bit, and we decided to watch Shrek, which I have seen already, again. That is such a great movie. I'm glad I saw it again - it's just as good the second time.

I stopped off at the Suncoast movie store, where I browsed the anime titles, and after all decided to buy the PS2 game "Zone of the Enders." It's that one with the demo of MGS2 heh. I finished up this writing assignment for this class I have to help me with the upcoming SAT II's, and trekked to my dad's.

I haven't played ZotE yet (hehe almost as good of an acronym as "Zelda:tOoT"), but after I'm done with this sentence, I'll get right to it!

My mom argues that way. Ugh.

I'm at my mom's now, and a foreign exchange student has come to live at our house. She's 19 and from Poland. Mom's doing this, I believe, to get money while she's "laid off." So I sleep on the futon in the family room. Meh.
Er, still - download Trillian. The best program ever.

Holy mother of Jeffrey! My new best friend Steve has introduced me to Trillian, a program that allows you to connect to AIM, ICQ, Y!, MSN, and IRC, ALL IN THE SAME PROGRAM, using the SAME INTERFACE. What's more, it doesn't eat up resources... ah... I can't believe this is true. There must be some catch. Well, anyway, I'll see ya on any of the above! Heh!

Yeah, this isn't funny, but it's true. In Katakana on the back of a bottle of sake, it's got serving suggestions, and one is "onzeroku." Heh. The sushi restaurants here are damn good. Try the dragon roll if any of you ever visit your local sushi restaurant. You'll love it, but they won't be as good as the ones they serve here. Daimn.

Well then. I've got the Reply feature back up. And now, thanks to my trusty ol' bud Phil Ulrich, I can tell how many replies there are to each post. Whoopee. I only fear that Port5, the PHP server, goes a bit slow at times, slowing down the Swamp. Eh.

Well, I saw Atlantis today. I liked it more than the rest of my family, but that's not saying much. The visuals were stylish and splendid, with cel-shaded animation and the like, and the group of characters was funny and diverse, but the plot was sorta dull. Nothing I haven't seen before. I do like the fact that it's not a "fairy-tale" - more historical fiction than anything else. All right, that's pushing it. But a DISNEY MOVIE actually mentions dates, times and places. Pretty neat.

Then I went out to sushi. I was really shy for some reason, because even though I said I was learning Japanese, I couldn't understand anything the chefs were saying. I did say "sunimasen" though. Hehehe.

When we were arguing about where and when to see Atlantis, my parents made fun of my sister while she was in a bad mood (deadly combo) and so she ran into her room and slammed the door. I felt sorry for her, though, because she was as confused as they, so I yelled at my stepmom, calling her "stupid" and telling her to "shut up" just like they told Lily. They were just joking, though, and I was imitating them, but it made my stepmom cry. It was the second time I'd ever actually yelled at anyone in my life. It's really effective, but the guilt is enormous. (I wonder how my mom can stand it.)

Well, it's been 9 days since the end of school, and summer vacations going pretty much as I've planned. I'm going back to my mom's tomorrow, so I don't expect to do much besides being told to do stuff. Eh. Bye bye then. Ah hell, when I'm bored, I'll probably blog more tonight.

We drove to Kentucky, from Maryland, overnight. I, fully incapable of sleeping in a car, was treated with staring at the back of my father's seat for twelve hours, unable to write or draw or read in the darkness. I'm very capable of battling boredom, but... twelve hours is a long time to do literally nothing. Thank god for my MP3 player or I may have thrown myself out of the window. We arrived two hours before the funeral, so I had enough time to take an hour nap before I "dressed up" and all that. Awesome thing is--my nicest outfit is a blank, black shirt and a pair of blue jeans. I went to a funeral casual.

The funeral sucked. It wasn't eight hours long (unlike my very first funeral... ugh), but it was still pretty bad. My grandmother got in a yelling fight with her brother (a man named Wade whom I've never met). She was the one who chose to take my great-grandmother off of life support. He, in all his niceness, pretty much called her a murderer. Let me tell you, you've never lived unless you've yelled at a seventy-year-old man in your Granny's defense. Of course, I was scolded afterwards by none other than the woman I defended. Later, when I did not bow my head for my Grandfather's prayer, I was publically accused of being a godless heathen. I guess he took her death pretty badly. Ugh.

Nobody talked to me. I didn't say anything, mostly in fear of mentioning my utter disgust at the concept of a funeral, my hatred of the fact that my great-grandmother was forced to breath for so long, and I KNEW that any joke I had to lighten the mood (there were many) would just offend people. So I said nothinh.

A very, very good thing happened, though. Two good things, actually. My father's girlfriend (who is 12 years older than me, and 12 years younger than my Dad) was mistaken for my 17 year old sister by one of the older women. I also came upon the knowledge that the first girl my Dad ever kissed was his cousin. Hahahaha.

I couldn't sleep that night, either, mostly because I had a lot on my mind. And, the ride home was just as long and boring. Jesus. I hate funerals. Dying relatives... such a major inconvenience!

I'll have to agree with Jefe's new-age "freedom is an illusion" statement, but in a different way. Freedom is all fine, but people don't really want it. They think they do; but they really don't. There are very, very few people in the world (myself excluded, unfortunately), who can be considered a "leader". The rest are quick to follow orders, give some advice to this leader-type (who, of course, is none other than God and George Bush!), but nobody wants to - or is even capable of - making their own decisions, sweating their own failures, and none of that.

But it's still a nice illusion.

Before I begind a rant of my own, I'd like to clear up that Jefe should stick with his present IAQ introduction and just go with that, for now. I do not do anything artisticy (draw or write) unless I want to. Otherwise, it sucks. So I just have to wait until the motivation hits. Shouldn't be long, though. I'm bored out of my mind.

OK! On to funeral stuff! Next post.

I just got the urge to rant, so here's an incomplete, incoherent, and small rant about "freedom."

Ever since the days of the Bible, freedom has been looked upon as a thing to treasure and cherish. Everyone wants to be free. Moses set the Israeli people free. The slaves of America were set free. Wars have been fought for freedom, and won.

But Moses' people spent 40 years in the desert afterwards, with their newfound freedom, trying to find their way. Some even wanted to go back to Egypt, where they were better kept and fed. Why? Because this freedom that Moses had provided left the people with no guidance, and no reason to live.

According to Janis Joplin, "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose." If so, that means you care not about family, friends, possessions, social value, reproduction means, or even SURVIVAL means. Biologically speaking, no one is free. We're all obligated to survive, and ultimately, reproduce. What we do to customize and personalize this bondage is ART. For example, art can be painting, acting, music, design, or something as simple as putting a picture up in one's office. (This is explained in more detail in Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics.)

Of course, art has its obligations and limitations as well. In a "free" world where art still existed, people would almost instantly fall back into bondage with the demands of people around them.

In conclusion, real "freedom" can never be achieved. Actually, there is one way: death!
