I was never too close to her &#8211; the most recently I&#8217;ve talked with her was just through email correspondance, with some photos of myself and some music I&#8217;d composed. Like most people and their grandparents, it would have been nice to spend more time with her.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not ultimately saddening or shocking &#8211; we were expecting it, but not so early. But she&#8217;s been a widow for 19 years now &#8211; my grandpa passed away a few months before I was born. Her death marks the first death in my family since I was born.<br \/>\nSo yeah, never been to a funeral, never had to deal with anything like this. I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen, plans-wise. I can&#8217;t imagine how my dad feels.<br \/>\nSadly, it&#8217;s yet another case of not knowing what you had until it was gone. Hmm. I think I&#8217;m going to hang out a bit with my friends; this doesn&#8217;t seem like the appropriate time to be milling around on the net.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;my grandma died today.
