This is the least I’ve ever received for Christmas, but who cares? I got exactly what I wanted.
\n1) A denim jacket. I’ve wanted one since ever.
\n2) A 1280×1024 LCD monitor w\/TV tuner. This will be awesome.
\nI have a GeForce4 MX 440 with VGA out and S-Video out. This makes for only one monitor and one TV screen – the TV screen can be used as a second workspace – but this TV tuner takes S-Video. So what I’m thinking is that I can hook it up to my computer through S-Video.
\nMaybe someone can help me out with this – my question is, will the S-Video output be smooth at 1280×1024 if it goes straight from the computer to the monitor? Or will it have teh fuzziesz as if it’s a resized TV screen? If so, I can always use my new monitor as the main one (since it’s bigger than the one I currently have). I don’t NEED a second monitor, but when using Flash and running a whole bunch of other apps, things get cluttered.
\nOh, and with this TV tuner my roommate won’t be looking at what I’m doing, but at Star Trek. I guess that’s my Christmas present to him – use of my new monitor. \ud83d\ude1b
