I'm being scammed! :)

I’m in the market for a new car, so my stepmom sent me a listing on Craigslist (now removed) for a Honda Accord LX 2004 (or 2000?) for $5000, supposedly with a Salvage title.
Here’s the email exchange so far…

Hello,
I’m highly interested in your 2000 Honda Accord LX. I live in Marin
County, and would be able to drive down and pick it up. I am able to
pay in full immediately.
If this hasn’t already been claimed, would you like to schedule a time
for me to come down and see the car?
I see it is a salvage title, what needs to be done to repair it?
Jeffrey

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting me regarding my item.
First of all i want to tell you that the car is in perfect condition, and
the price includes all the shipping costs and insurance so you will not
have to pay any extra charges. The car has a Clean Title wich will come
along with it.I am a US citizen. I moved to Sweden because i was sent here with
work. The car is in a perfect condition. It’s a great car, I am devastated that I
have to sell it but I have to pay too much money to register it here,so I
decide to sell it. The car it is still registered in States but curently is located in Malmo , Sweden.
Tell me if there is anything else you would like to know about the car.

Why is the car listed as “salvage” in the posting? Is it in perfect
condition, or does it need any parts replaced or repairs done?
If I was to purchase the car for $5000 and it was shipped here – could
it be shipped to the San Francisco Bay Area?
Also, why has your posting been removed by Craigslist community? Have
you removed it yourself?
Would you be able to provide any extra images of the car?
Thanks,
Jeffrey

Hello,
The car will be shipped with Lufthansa Air Cargo, and will be on your door in 5 max 6 days.
If you want to continue, please send me your full name and your shipping address so I let Craigslist know that you are interested .You will receive an email from them instructing you about how to send payment and they’ll release the funds to me only after you receive and inspect the car. When i will have the Craigslist confirmation,i will ship the car to you.
I think that this is a fair way to make business and I hope that you will agree. I don’t touch your money until you receive and inspect the car.
Hoping that I have kept your attention and your interest is still on, I look forward for any questions that you might have regarding the car.
Regards

Craigslist confirmation of what? I thought I will have received the
car by this point.
Also, is the car a 2000 or 2004 Honda Accord? The listing was not clear.
Also, what was the “salvage” title about?
Also, why was the Craigslist posting removed?
Also, should I call you William or Marco?
Also, it seems as if Craigslist cannot guarantee protection. According
to Craigslist:
1. Someone claims that craigslist will guarantee a transaction,
certify a buyer/seller, OR claims that craigslist will handle or
provide protection for a payment
These claims are fraudulent, as craigslist does not have any role in
any transaction.
Scammer will often send an official looking email that appears to come
from craigslist, offering a guarantee, certifying a seller, providing
payment services — all such emails are fakes!

I can’t believe people fall for this…

  1. What do you mean? You mean sending a car from Swenden that is registered in the US is not normal? Are you saying I’m not going to get my car in 5 to 6 days?

  2. Thanks for the heads up!!
    Jeffrey,
Thanks for posting your story. I was exchanging e-mails and became highly suspicious. When I googled William Benner and came across your story I just had to email you.. Thanks again
