First poll of many...

Do you want a forum? This means I'll be establishing a community beyond just the strips, and the comments will be integrated into the new thing. I don't really know if CAR is ready for a forum yet - do I really get enough visitors?

No forum, comments defeat the purpose of forums, and comments are better.

Forums are only good when you get too many visitors for comments.

Well, you remember when I tried installing Ikonboard. Although I could post the same way, it took another step to comment and such. Comments wouldn't disappear or anything, though.

Then again, my comic is gaining popularity. I may have to have one at some point...

You only need a forum when it seems like something that would become a big attraction. Right now the comments can reflect how the forum would die. All the comments are people that you know putting in their say on the topic at hand. When you start getting a lot of visitors that comment that don't know you, I'd say switch to forums. And don't do both, that is terrible, either have one or the other.

People have bigger and better forums to go to, and they would most likely neglect this one (me, anyway). This front page chatter is fine, plus, the topic pretty much changes every day based on what you blog (we wouldn't have too many new topics of our own to start after a week or so, I'm betting).

I would love a forum! I think it would be excellent for setting up events and just talking to people. One of the great things about your site Jeffrey is that all my friends visit it regulary, so we could talk to eachother and leaves messages (Like PARTY AT FELIXES!!!) and stuff on the boards.

Of course, we'd have comments ALSO, we'd just have a small button (like cams) for the forums.
I think it'd be great!

I'm voting against a forum for the reasons stated above, but if you go with a forum for some godforsaken reason, then I've discovered that www.phpBB.com is superior to ikonboard provided you have the capability to run it (which I believe you do -- php and SQL)

I definitely would use PHPBB - but the only problem is, I'd want to integrate it with my comments which means good-bye, Movable Type... I'm not sure if I would want that.
